Recently, I had the opportunity to work with the $99 Dollar Orchestra . The company I enlisted was the $99 Dollar Orchestra which was a successful Kickstarter campaign that is making recording sessions more affordable for regular Joes like you and me. Their sessions are done remotely in Lisbon (for the regular 30 piece or 50 piece orchestra) or London (for the elite String sessions). They start their rate at 7 minutes of recording time which equate to 1-1.5 minutes of music. That cost is 99 euros, which is slightly misleading to their company name, where at the moment 1 euro equates to $1.14 here in the U.S. Regardless it is still a great deal.
Now, the reason I did this was to gain some practical experience in this type of arrangement and the resulting music was not for any particular project. Watch as I share my first experience and learn what to expect if you choose to use the $99 Dollar Orchestra or similar competitors.
