Have you seen those Youtube videos by Monstercat or Trapnation where the screen content interacts with the beat of the music?   Well I did some research and there is an easy to do this!  From what I discovered, there are a couple of programs that excel at this.  One is Adobe After Effects which is probably the industry standard.  The other is HitFilm.   HitFilm is a competitor of the Adobe video editing line (Premiere and After Effects) and they both aren't cheap.  However,  I learned that HitFilm offers a free version called HitFilm Express which has boatloads of options for video editing and fx compositing,   all-in-one!

With just a few steps inside this cool program and a clear vision on your music video, you too can create fun, interactive videos that are not static.   Here's one I've made recently with a circus music track called "Extravaganza."   This incorporates the "Audio Spectrum" and "Audio Waveform" effects inside HItFilm Express.

Now, the HitFilm Express is free for download, but the kicker is you need to purchase the Motion:Audio Visual effects pack to get this feature.  It was a one-time purchase of $25...  compare that to the $30 a month subscription that Adobe offers and it's a no-brainer.   If you are a music maker that doesn't require anything too visual fx heavy, this is a very inexpensive way to make killer videos.
